Heavy Run Of Salmon At Helen's Falls CampA steady stream of fresh Salmon were present from July 27 up to September 15. While high water made fishing challenging in some of our regular pools it also produced a number of smaller pockets that were a delight to fish. Helen's Falls in continual operation since 1954 is one of the premier locations in the World for Atlantic Salmon. And with our renovation projects completed this past summer - Helens Falls is by far the most comfortable camp in the Ungava Region.
Ungava Bay For Great Fishing
North Fishing Camp reported an excellent run of Arctic char during the month of August. In addition to the char - big lakers were particularly active during the latter part of the season with a number of fish of over 30 pounds caught and released. Lake Ikirtuuq Fishing Camp continues to provide some of the best fast action brook trout fishing available in the Arctic. In addition, you will find big lake trout and Arctic char in the lake system. The area is also known for producing exceptionally large landlocked Salmon. This is mostly fast water fishing - a fly fisherman's dream. 100% Opportunity on CaribouThis past season proved to be one of our best ever. Caribou co-operated very nicely from mid-August till the end of the season and offered every one of our hunters whether they choose rifle or bow the realistic opportunity to see and take mature bull caribou. The herds are on a steady increase and there is no better time like now for hunters to plan a trip to take advantage of their great numbers. A trip to the barren lands of the Arctic should be on every hunter's list to do. It's more than a hunting trip - it's a true hunting adventure.
Bonus Fishing, Ptarmigan & BearMore and more of our guests are discovering the fabulous bird hunting and great fishing available during and after their caribou hunt. All of our camps are equipped with boats and motors to provide access to the fishing areas. As well, we took over 16 bears during this past season and many with a bow. All of our camps can provide bear hunting permits on short notice should a bear opportunity arise.

New Bear LodgePeribonka Lodge located 450 miles north of Montreal represents one of the last unspoiled hunting areas in Quebec, particularly for big bears. Our preliminary trial hunt in late June with the folks from Blue Ridge Production produced tremendous results. The boys all took monster bears, fished for giant northern pike and had one heck of an enjoyable week. Their show on Peribonka Lodge will be airing on the Outdoor Channel shortly - don't miss it.
Big Bears Keep ComingOur mobile operations at Laurentide Camp in the Lake Saint Jean Region of Quebec continues to produce an astonishing 100% opportunity for success. At least 3 Boone & Crocket bears were taken as well as a number of Pope & Young trophies. With the camp being located adjacent to one of Quebec's largest Provincial Reserve - it's no wonder that big bears are numerous in our area and continue to tip the scale.
